As Electronics & Powertrain Engineer at InMotion, you are responsible for the software and hardware in the car. This includes control and data acquisition of all the aspects of our racecar. The hardware in our car includes all the sensors, ECU, BMS, wiring loom, LV components, etc. It is important that you are experienced with MatLab and Simulink since those are the systems we are working with. Besides that, knowledge about Simulations & Control, Electronics, Heat transfer & Thermodynamics is needed to be our next Electronics & Powertrain Engineer.
We often start with a scrum or meeting to keep everybody up to date and on top of their tasks. Afterward, I work on testplans for the car and I prepare all software for that. If something needs to change to the electronics of the car, it is my job to do so. Of course, we need to
keep improving our designs. Therefore, I am in contact with companies to look at new Battery Management Systems we can use and look at how to implement these.
The team is a diverse group of students, studying at different faculties or universities/HBO's. It is one of the larger teams at TU/e, but it is still very easy to ask things anyone in the team.
