Description Function
In the team of Battery Pack Engineers, you are not only responsible for the assembly of the battery pack, but also for its operations, cooling, and its safety. Using the knowledge gathered, you will make a start on the next iteration of InMotion’s battery pack. It is therefore essential for you to know how to use CAD software, and to have knowledge about Heat Transfer and Thermodynamics. Battery knowledge is a plus, but not required. With being a Battery Pack Engineer at InMotion, you will put a lot of theoretical knowledge into practice, and you will have a central and important position within the team of engineers.
Day in the life of Mick Mourmans, one of our Battery Pack Engineers:
Every day I research, design, develop and test different battery cooling solutions together with my colleagues. We try to come up with innovative yet feasible solutions to effectively get as much heat out of the battery pack as possible. Along with other battery pack engineers I focus on a concept or project that I continue to implement until it is ready for validation and performance testing or until it fails.
When
discussing potential solutions to problems and sharing my findings my
colleagues around me and the technical and project managers offer a great
second set of eyes.
The team I work with is tackling problems very similar to mine, which
makes it convenient to ask each other for advice in an accessible manner. By
actively thinking along with each other we often find pioneering technologies
that others can use. Luckily we only have formal meetings when it is absolutely
urgent, which lets us focus optimally on our tasks throughout the day.
Occasionally topping the working day off with drinks makes it a convenient and
open environment.
