There are 7 management functions within InMotion that form the board of the team. The functions are mostly non-technical, but certainly not less important. The managers lay the foundation of the team and provide all necessary resources for the team to work perfectly.
The team manager oversees the activities of all team members. The team manager is responsible for the output of the whole team and represents InMotion to the outside world. Tasks of a team manager include giving presentations, chair meetings, manage the team, make sure deadlines are met and goals are reached.
The team manager works full time, though extra hours may be necessary when deadlines approach or objectives aren’t being met.
The technical manager supervises all the lead engineers and is responsible for the technical output of the team. In addition, the technical manager makes the technical planning and keeps an overview over the whole project.
The PR manager is responsible for all the partner relations. Existing partners must be updated and kept in touch with the project. New partners and sponsors need to be found to find resources to build the car. This can be in cash or components (in-kind).
The marketing manager is responsible for all contact with the outside world. Shaping the global image, developing marketing strategies and creating content are three major responsibilities as Marketing Manager at InMotion. The marketing department aims to increase the exposure and fame of InMotion.
The financial manager is responsible for all financial affairs within InMotion. This includes bookkeeping, making a budget for each quartile, questioning whether certain purchases are necessary and keeping the overall financial picture.
The operations manager is responsible for all the events that InMotion is part of. Tasks of the operations manager include: arrange transport for the cars, make sure enough team members are present, contact with the event organizer, making scenarios and making invoices.
The HR manager is responsible for the well-being of all team members and the recruitment of new team members. Tasks of the HR manager include organizing recruitment events, handling applications and interviews, organize evaluation and feedback sessions and organizing team activities.
