Three students, Albert Maas, Jeroen-Pieter Visser, and Peter Karst decided they wanted to combine their passion for the motorsport with the recent climate change discussions. That’s why they built a full circuit formula car which runs on Bio-ethanol during their minor and graduation. The Ignition represents the combination of innovations and motorsport.
After graduating, one of the group members pursued his study at Eindhoven University of Technology. Shortly afterward, InMotion was created by Albert Maas and 9 fellow students, with a dream to create the most innovative racing car in the world. Along came the plan to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans which is the perfect platform to showcase such thrilling technology like fully electric racing.

The car is based on the principle that you are able to achieve high performance by using lightweight materials in combination with a lightweight bio-ethanol engine. The engine, a Suzuki GSX 650 F, provides the car with 74kW (100hp), giving the car a top speed of 220 km/h and enabling the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The total weight of the car is just 330 kg, of which the monocoque is an amazing 65 kg.
